Registration Tips
PREPARE TO ENROLL FOR CLASSES
Step 1: REVIEW YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION THROUGH MYSLICE AND STUDENT SERVICES PAGELET.
- Verify your academic profile.
- Note your initial access date and time via the View My Appointment link
- Resolve any holds
Step 2: PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE AND COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION COURSE WORKSHEET.
- The online form is available at the Registrar's homepage: regcourseworksheet.pdf
Step 3: MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR TO REVIEW YOUR SCHEDULE, IF REQUIRED.
Step 4: ASSEMBLE ENROLLMENT ITEMS.
- Completed Registration Course Worksheet;
- Obtain any permission numbers needed for restricted or closed courses
- You will need your NetID and Password to access MySlice
Undergraduate Student Registration Tips
- Academic Profile: Select the VIEW MY ACADEMIC INFORMATION link in the Student Services pagelet in MySlice. The information in your academic profile will have an effect on your registration appointment time, course requirements, class enrollment eligibility, etc. If any of the data displayed does not correlate with expected information, please contact your home school/college to clarify any discrepancies.
- Registration period: You may register and adjust your schedule any time between the start and end dates/times displayed on the VIEW MY APPOINTMENT pagelet in MySlice.
- Schedule Adjustment: If you have successfully added a class (es) during the April/May registration period, you will have access to an additional schedule adjustment period, August 7-15, 2008.
- Registration holds: Will block you from registering. Any holds that have been
applied are displayed:
- In the HOLDS pagelet in MySlice
- By selecting the VIEW MY HOLDS link in the Student Services pagelet.
- Advising Holds: Will block you from registering. Holds are applied if your home school/college requires you to be advised. If you are dually enrolled you must follow the advising hold procedures for your home school/college. You may view the advising statements presented by your home school/college on the Registrar's homepage: advisingstatements.html
- Course worksheet: The course worksheet will assist you in planning your weekly class schedule. Complete it in consultation with your advisor, prior to registering. You may view/print the pre-plan your schedule document on the Registrar's Homepage: regcourseworksheet.pdf.
- Permissions: To enroll in a restricted or closed class (es), you will need to obtain permission. Permission is obtained from the department or college that controls the class. There are two types of permissions. The department may enter permission directly on system, or may give you a permission number. If you are given a number, you will be required to enter it on the ENROLLMENT OPTIONS page during your registration session.
- Late Fee: If you do not register for at least one class prior to May 7, 2008 you will be considered a late registrant and charged a $35 late registration fee. You will not have access to the January schedule adjustment period.
Graduate Student Registration Tips
- Academic Profile: Select the VIEW MY ACADEMIC INFORMATION link in the Student Services pagelet in MySlice. The information in your Academic profile will have an effect on your registration appointment time, course requirements, class enrollment eligibility, etc. If any of the data displayed does not correlate with expected information, please contact your department to clarify any discrepancies.
- Registration period: You may register and adjust your schedule any time between the start and end dates/times displayed on the VIEW MY APPOINTMENT pagelet in MySlice.
- Registration holds: Will block you from registering. Any holds that have been
applied are displayed:

- By selecting the VIEW MY HOLDS link in the Student Services pagelet.
- Schedule Adjustment: You may make schedule adjustments beginning on April 7, 2008 through Tuesday, September 2, 2008. If you do not register for any classes by 11:59 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2008, you will be considered a late registrant. A late registration fee will be assessed. Late registration begins at 7:00 a.m., August 25, 2008.
- Zero hour registration: Students pursuing graduate degree programs but who are not registering for any courses (i.e. scheduled classes, independent study, thesis or dissertation) must register for GRD-998, "Degree in Progress." (Enter Class 16973 for Fall 2008.)
- Course worksheet: The course worksheet will assist you in planning your weekly class schedule. Complete it in consultation with your advisor, prior to registering. You may view/print the pre-plan your schedule document on the Registrar's Homepage: regcourseworksheet.pdf.

- Joint Law Degree Students: Will receive separate Law and Grad appointment times and registration information forms. You will need to register for Law courses in your Law career based on your Law registration appointment.
