Flexible Format (Variable Length) Classes

Criteria

Criteria for a flexible format (FF) class:

  • does not coincide with the designated meeting patterns associated with the University’s published official terms;
  • has unique academic and financial deadlines;
  • has the same academic standards and expectations as regular semester classes
  • may be available to matriculated and non-matriculated students
  • may fulfill program requirements

Searching for FF classes

Search for a flexible format class scheduled within a term:

  1. From MySlice.syr.edu, click on Search for Classes:

  2. Select the Term and the Session for your search. Flex Long Class meets equal to or more than 5 days; Flex Short Class meets equal to or less than 4 days; Regular Academic Session class meets the full term. You can refine your search by entering the Course Subject and Course Number:

  3. From the search results, select the class to view. The actual meeting dates for the class will display in the Meeting Dates column. A calendar icon link will display for the academic/financial dates and deadlines for that class. Click the icon to see the Dates and Deadlines page:

  4. The Dates and Deadlines page displays information for that specific class:
